VCARE Poultice Pad is a convenient, ready-to-use poultice that comes in a pad. This unique poultice contains a mild antiseptic (boric acid) and tragacanth, a natural poultice agent to promote fast healing. Indicated for use on horses and dogs. Aids in wound healing and relieves minor stiffness and soreness. Absorbs exudates, provides a moist, clean healing site and cushions sore areas. Retains moisture/warmth and helps prevent external contamination due to its occlusive backing. Can also be used as a dry dressing over open wounds and as a pressure padding. Supplied as either a pack of 3 (5-1/2 inch x 5-1/2 inch pre-cut hoof shape) or 1 pad (8″ x 16″ that can be cut to any size).

- POULTICE DRESSING MATERIAL: 100% cotton wool with a non-woven cover on one side and plastic backing on the other.
Contains mild antiseptic (boric acid 2g/pad) plus natural poultice agent (Tragacanth 6g/pad).

Applications
- Hot Dressing
Place the pad in boiled water cooled to 38C.
Once wet remove pad from water, squeeze out excess water.
Apply to affected area with plastic away from skin.
Hold in place with gamgee or similar bandage.
2. Cold Dressing
Soak dressing in cold water apply to affected area.
Can also be applied chilled after refrigeration in bag.
3. Dry Dressing
Apply poultice pad directly to affected area.
Always apply the dressing with plastic away from skin.
- Hot Dressing
Caution
Always use Vcare dressing in conjunction with a veterinary surgeon.Make sure bandages are not applied too tightly.
Make sure dressing is not too hot when applied.
